PART 1 – TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

1. About Us

Find Your Local Chef (“FYLC”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a UK-based chef agency and booking platform connecting clients with vetted independent professional chefs for private, corporate, and hospitality services.

FYLC acts as a booking intermediary and coordination agency. Chefs operate as independent contractors unless otherwise agreed in writing.

 

2. Booking & Confirmation

2.1 All bookings are subject to availability.

2.2 A booking is confirmed only when:

  • Written confirmation has been issued, and
  • The required deposit has been received.

2.3 FYLC reserves the right to decline bookings prior to confirmation.

 

3. Deposits & Payments

3.1 A non-refundable deposit (typically 25–50%) is required to secure all bookings.

3.2 The remaining balance must be paid:

  • No later than 7 days prior to private events, or
  • In accordance with agreed invoicing terms for corporate or hospitality placements.

3.3 Failure to make payment may result in cancellation.

3.4 For long-term staffing or elite placements, separate contractual payment terms may apply.

 

4. Cancellations

4.1 Deposits are non-refundable.

4.2 Cancellation policy:

  • More than 14 days before event: Deposit retained only
  • 7–14 days before event: 50% of total fee payable
  • Less than 7 days before event: 100% of total fee payable

4.3 Staffing placements will be governed by agreed written terms.

 

5. Amendments to Bookings

Changes must be made in writing. Additional charges may apply for:

  • Increased guest numbers
  • Extended service hours
  • Menu upgrades
  • Additional staffing
  • Equipment or travel changes

 

6. Client Responsibilities

Clients must:

  • Provide accurate event details
  • Ensure suitable and safe kitchen facilities
  • Disclose dietary requirements and allergies
  • Maintain safe working conditions

FYLC reserves the right to withdraw services if safety standards are not met.

 

7. Chef Substitution

In cases of illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, FYLC reserves the right to provide a suitably qualified replacement chef of comparable standard.

 

8. Independent Contractor Status

Chefs engaged through FYLC operate as independent contractors.

FYLC is not responsible for independent actions taken by chefs outside the scope of confirmed bookings.

 

9. Liability

9.1 FYLC’s liability is limited to the total fee paid for the booking.

9.2 FYLC shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses
  • Loss of business or profits
  • Third-party supplier failures

9.3 Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

 

10. Force Majeure

FYLC shall not be liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control including:

  • Natural disasters
  • Government restrictions
  • Illness outbreaks
  • Travel disruptions

 

11. Elite Culinary Division

For Michelin / Rosette placements:

  • Confidentiality agreements may apply
  • Separate contractual agreements may be issued
  • Placement fees will be agreed individually

 

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

 

PART 2 – PRIVACY POLICY (UK GDPR – 2026 COMPLIANT)

 

13. Data Controller

Find Your Local Chef is the Data Controller for personal data collected via:

  • Website enquiries
  • Booking forms
  • Email communication
  • Telephone enquiries

Client data is retained for up to 6 years for accounting and legal purposes unless deletion is requested where legally permissible.

Chef records may be retained for ongoing placement opportunities.
